After 3 Years, Body Armor

After 3 Years, Body Armor

The Army, under pressure to issue more protective gear
to its soldiers in Iraq, has signed a $70 million emergency contract with
a California company to rush ceramic body armor to the front lines.

The sole-source contract, with California-based Ceradyne
Inc., was approved last week and announced yesterday. It comes on the heels
of a Pentagon finding that side armor could have saved dozens of U.S. lives
in Iraq.

Army
Signs $70 Million Deal for Body Armor

This is a very bad, cruel, completely unfunny joke.

Three frickin' years after the war began the Army is just now
signing a contract for body armor?

What a colossal screw up. Rummy should be dead dropped into Baghdad
without a bodyguard, a Winchester rifle and no communication. How is this man
still in charge of the Pentagon? I'm ashamed for him.

Don't let any Bushie tell you they support the military. If they
do, just give them this reality. It's a disgrace.
