Guest Blogging over at Firedoglake

Guest Blogging over at Firedoglake

First, I'm guest blogging through Friday, along with other very
stellar bloggers
. Jane and ReddHedd are generous to have offered the chance
to open myself to new readers and I so appreciate it.

In other blog details, we just switched over to Haloscan comments. I've gotten
several suggestions to make our comment box simpler, which we've been doing
day by day, but now I've just decided to use one of the common comment denominator
around the blogs. Thanks to everyone who suggested going simpler, from readers
to a couple of sister bloggers.

In other news, I'll be on the radio this afternoon in Iowa, on KXEL with Mike
Bunge, for anyone in that neck of the country. I don't often give a shout out
on my interviews, but I had the time so I thought I'd share.

There are quite a few posts up today about the Ciro loss, which I hadn't forgotten
at all. Here's a round up, starting off with Jane
Hamsher's post
, which has several updates. Chris Bowers over at MyDD has
a must read “postmortems” here
and here, with lots
of links throughout that post. Of course, a TX-38 postmortem wouldn't be complete
without a take from Kos,
which you've likely seen by now.

My take is simple, though I'm no expert on TX-38, far from it. Netroots can
do a lot, but we can't get people to the polls. That takes true inspiration.
When it's missing we lose. The old saying always holds true around election
time: the most committed wins… as long as the committed have $$$, that is.

As for the caving in of the rubber stamping Republicans on the Senate Intelligence
Committee, see Glenn
Greenwald
.

Geez, lots of grim topics today, which hides the reality of the good fight
and the spineless caving of the Republicans who control Congress. On every issue
they're caving and when they're not caving they're posturing, while following
Democrats, like on the Dubai port debacle.

Oh, one more thing, don't forget to read Molly Ivans today. She's in rare form
in “Enough of the D.C. Dems.”
