Have cause? Will babble.
Ah, yes, Ann is set.
Collecting $25,000, give or take, on the college circuit,
as well as having Human Events email her screeds out to the right-wing faithful.
She's raking it in. That is, when she's not selling her stuff through the Young
America's Foundation, along with John Stossel and David Horowitz, who help
round out the three stooges of the wingnut set.
Ms. Coulter and let's not forget Michelle Malkin, just love to visit colleges;
attractive (if you like their type), smart (if you like a closed mind) and ever
ready to rant all things right-wing. The girls of G.W. can't wait to share their
wares on campuses across this country, pumping up the volume on the Republicans'
faux revolution with the smart crowd, while throwing all manner of propaganda
towards the media trying to prove that colleges across America lean liberal.
Then take David Horowitz's latest academic (ahem) review, The
Professors: The 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America, like we can
trust that messenger.
Ann Coulter has now set her sights on Jean Rohe. A young brainiac who had
the audacity and bravery to take on an elder and not just anyone either. But Ann didn't like the uppity college chicky setting her sights on Senator Suck Up, talking
straight to John McCain, because he doesn't do that anymore. That just isn't
done in Ann's crowd. See, free speech and expression aren't what Republicans
value most anymore. It's all about falling in step and speaking the right lines,
no matter what you feel, know and sense. Know your place and pass on the propaganda
is now the only plan.
So, yesterday, Ann let her worst fiction fly.
This week the world gasped in awe at the raw heroism of Jean Rohe, the student
at the New School who gave a speech attacking the commencement speaker, Republican
Sen. John McCain, at the commencement ceremony.(snip)
Maybe in her heart of hearts, Rohe does think Bush is an imbecile, McCain
a lout, and the war is wrong. Maybe she would think so even if she had ever
met someone who holds a different opinion. But then she should just admit: “I know, I know. I'm an utterly conventional
brown-noser, the very definition of going-with-the-flow, middle-of-the pack,
finger-to-the-wind follower, who doesn't have the candlepower to resist conforming
to the beliefs of everyone around me — but that's what I think.”If you want to find the cool, anti-establishment rebels who don't answer
to “The Man” on college campuses today, you have to go to a meeting
of the College Republicans. They are rebelling against at least 99% of their
professors. Even the original '60s anti-war protesters were rebelling against
at least 5% of their professors. Today's college liberals ape the beliefs
of 99% of their professors and then pretend they're on-the-edge radicals. We've always had to endure goody two-shoes apple-polishers — kids with their
hands always up, who turn in talkers when the teacher leaves the classroom
and volunteer for extra work after school. But not until today's college liberals
have we ever had to suffer the effrontery of the ass-kissers telling us: “I'm
bad — I clean erasers for teachers after class because I'm baaad.”I don't care what liberals think. I don't care that they're spineless
suck-ups. Just don't insult my intelligence by telling me they're brave.
“Spineless suck-ups”? Exactly who did Jean Rohe suck up
to, exactly? It certainly wasn't John McCain or New School president Bob Kerrey.
She laid those elders out.
And the last time I looked it was John McCain losing his soul to “The
Man” at Liberty.
But as for insulting Ms. Coulter's “intelligence,” well, that hardly
is worth the effort. We're talking about a woman who hails Senator Joseph McCarthy
as a hero. She's a soft sister from Connecticut, trumpeting spiritually and connectivity
when no one wants to
claim her. She's a hypocrite of the highest order. No wonder she and Sean Hannity are pals.
Ann Coulter, Stossel and the dean of disinformation, David Horowitz, believe
that the anti-establishment rebels in colleges across this country are all leaning
Republican.
Who's buying that one?
Why would young people, who have their lie
detectors on lock and load, buy what over 60% of America aren't buying
anymore? They aren't, they won't and they don't.
Wake up and smell the wingnut fairy tale burning, because no one is
leaning Republican anymore.
