We heard there was going to be “a personnel change” today, but the CIA Director resigning? It's still developing, so stay tuned….
Okay, so Bush is now talking about Goss' tenure as one of “transition.” Yeah, I'll say. The CIA went from a non-political agency to an agency being purged so that only the president's buddies were allowed to work at the agency.
Hmmmmm…. Hookers?
UPDATE III: Good God! Norah O'Donnell actually asked the
question, even using the word “suspicious.” Why did Porter Goss
resign today? Has hell frozen? I just heard that John Roberts (correspondent)
and former Rep. Bob Barr just asked the question about hookergate on CNN.
Bad news is always dumped this time on a Friday. It's going to be drip, drip,
drip all day long.
UPDATE II: Classic quote from from a Pulitzer winner. Goss
had a “rocky start, a rocky middle and a rocky end,” said Dana Priest,
chuckling at the end. I'll say.
UPDATE: In light of this news, you've got to take another
look at TPM Muckraker's recent story tying Goss to hookergate. After only
2 years at the CIA, Goss resigns late on a Friday afternoon. Get it?
