| Maybe they just heard about this poll from Fox! |
Between Tony Snow saying “It's a number,” and Karl Rove's chickenhawk
proclamations of stay the course, you really have to wonder what the Administration
knows about the military, war or what will actually help the situation in Iraq.
Today on Fox “News” Sunday, Chris Wallace gave his buddy Tony an
opportunity to redeem himself. They knew how bad this picture was and what it
said about the elite Republicans who “lead” us right now. It was the consummate
spinjob from Snowjob.
Wallace: A lot of people have been writing captions for this. What's yours?
SNOW: Mine's unprintable. (My reponse: I bet; you hoped no one was looking.). … The AP is going to give me a full
size, great big - insert some Snowjob stuttering here - sort of copy of that so I
can put it up in my office. Because, what I tell people is that when you got
to work at the White House you have to keep two things in mind: the importance
of service and also the necessity of humility. I think they're both reflected
there. But Bartlett and I were sitting on this Chinook helicopter and we had
this big, heavy body armor, and the reason – put the picture up again if you
can – but see, look, you know why I'm looking at him like that? Because I
can't turn my head. That body armor is right up under my neck and you couldn't
move at all. … Well, you know you get two options: you can look funny with
a helmet on or you can feel stupid without one on. You know what? I'm taking
the helmet.
Memo to Tony: It's not that you looked stupid. It's that you look like you're
about to crap in your pants. Bartlett's get me the hell out of here expression is about right.
Now, imagine our troops inside Iraq with only their weapon and a prayer to
protect them, because you bozos have no clue and certainly don't have a plan.
Oh, and yeah, poor Snowjob, had to wear that uncomfortable body armor. Boohoo.
Tell it to this
father on Father's Day, pal.
