The Idiots Among Us

The Moose is an ass.

To their credit, Joe Biden and Joe Lieberman are two additional high-profile
Democrats who have put country before partisanship when it comes to foreign
policy…And, of course, Joe Lieberman refuses to waver. While many politicians
claim not to be guided by polls, Joe truly puts principle first. He is a profile
in courage. The scorn of puerile bloggers and assorted lefties should be worn
as a badge of honor.

America needs folks like Hillary, Biden and Lieberman. Country before party.

Stalwarts

“Joe truly puts principles first”? “Puerile bloggers” Oh, Marshall, I'm so hurt. You called me immature and childish. How will I ever survive the put down, you arrogant pipsqueak of yesteryear. What, missing that attention you used to get from the heirarchy and the minions below? Scared of the righteous smart class that has taken over your turf? Get used to it, pal. Because if you think advice like this for Democrats will win back America you need to up your meds.

Of course, it's not surprising that Wittmann wants to heap praises on these
Democrats. After all, original thinking and decision making is not exactly something
Wittmann, et al encourage. Wittmann's motto: If the Republicans do
it, Democrats have to do the same thing only better!
In fact,
that was Hillary's theme on Iraq in her speech this week. REAL Democrats aren't
buying that bull (or maybe I should say moose?) anymore.

Wittmann should be writing satire instead of political pabulum. Obviously he
longs for those good old days of the 1980s when Republicans were Reaganites
and Democrats were… were… were what? Like Michael Dukakis?

Hillary, Biden and Lieberman are not putting country before party. What they're
doing is putting their political ambitions before our troops and our country,
though I must tell you that Biden's plan should be separated out from Hillary
and Lieberman. At least Biden is a critical thinker, whether you like him or
disagree with him. He actually proposed dividing provinces in Iraq so that Kurds,
Sunni and Shias govern themselves independently, while the central government
allocates oil revenues, etc. But I'm getting past the point of this post.

“We will be victorious,” is what Dennis Hastert is spewing on the
House floor. When someone tells me what that means we'll talk. But Republicans
only have slogans, which won't get us anywhere in Iraq. It hasn't so far.

The war is “a grotesque mistake” is how Nancy Pelosi described it.
She wants the Iraqis to take over their own country. She's right.

But the crux is that Democrats the Moose is hoisting up as models are actually
making the Republicans' job easier. That he doesn't realize this is the beauty
of his ignorance, though some people actually listen to this guy, which is why I've decided to push back, but there's another reason.

Democrats like the Moose are scared of what we're stirring up in the Democratic Party. Republicans are scared of our passion and our political righteousness, which is making the old establishment look spineless. What the old school politicos don't realize, though they're clearly sensing something shifting, is that we're already dancing on their old school graves.

It's a much harder road for the Democrats to follow John Kerry, Russ Feingold and
John Murtha, with Leader Pelosi by their side, but it's the right thing to do.
It's swimming against a pro stay the course tide that is camouflage for cowardice, not REAL leadership. It takes no courage to say, yeah, what the Republicans
said, only we'll do it better. It takes leadership to say HAD ENOUGH? Follow
me.

UPDATE: House Democrats standing tough: Leader Pelosi; Deocrats ask for A Moment of Silence; Rep. McGovern – “I'm not interested in therapy”; Rep. Slaughter – The Republican Play Book on Iraq; Rep. George Miller – Bring an End to the War; Rep. Emanuel – GOP Iraq policy, “See no evil, hear no evil”.
