What Iraq War?

“It's a number,” said Tony Snow today, when speaking about the 2,500
U.S. soldiers who have died in Iraq.
Really? Because when you go to The Wall in Washington, D.C., there aren't numbers
on it, there are names. When people leave momentos and flags and flowers to
honor the dead, they reference names, not numbers. I guess if Snow actually
knew anyone in the military he'd know this too.
But what can you expect from a political party that has a picnic on a “benchmark”
day of dying? That tries to make political hay out of a war by debating a resolution
that has no meaning except to be used in election campaigning?
You've seen the invitation, now take a look at the
fun and games.
At least the Republican Congress and our president have their priorities straight.
Party now, worry about what to do in Iraq later, much, much, much later.
During the festivities, I learned that Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Caucus stripped Jefferson of his seat on the Ways and Means Committee.
While back at the president's picnic, at least one thing came out of it. I finally know what Nevada's Jon Porter is good for, which is evident in one of the pictures below.
…and the people in power partied like it was 1964.
