Good morning and how would you like your news today? Beheaded or eviscerated? Sorry,
that's it, so choose one.
To that end, you can run down this
story and get physically ill. Or if you'd rather, just touch base with the
— WARNING — GRAPHIC CONTENT — beheading of Nick
Berg, and feel nostalgic for the good old days. You know, when we still
believed we could get out of this mess.
Nothing has changed, oh, except things have gotten worse, much worse. The proof
is everywhere.
One international official told me of reports among his staff that a 15-year-old
girl had been beheaded and a dog's head sewn on her body in its place; and
of a young child who had had his hands drilled and bolted together before
being killed.
But that's nothing. We've got real problems, people.
The frickin' lobsters come to the plate whole.
I mean, for Christ's sake, what would Emily Post say?
Get a clue and call a German. Or is that Swiss? Just get a knife, because these
lobsters have got to be halved.
Busy day for me yesterday, so via Billmon,
because a good lobster story is hard to find in war, I give you culinary solutions.
QUESTION: SPC R.: Asked if the dining facility could provide Belgium waffles,
waffle cones, and more variety of ice-cream flavors.RESPONSE: MR. L.: Explained that KBR is restricted by what they can order
from the vendor’s catalog, but stated that they do strive to provide
a constant variety. These changes do take time to implement. We must take
into consideration, the ordering/delivering time . . .QUESTION: SGM A.: Can the lobster tails be cut in half?
RESPONSE: MR. L.: Due to the lack of proper equipment, this is not possible.

This comes from Hack's great site Soldiers for
the Truth. Oh, if Hack
were only here today, what he might say. We're laughing in your honor, Hack.
Hey, but that's not even the end of it, no way.
Quote of the day, even if it came from yesterday:
My ghast is flabbered. Read the post and yours will be too.
… by the way… What's a ghast??? In this mess no one knows; besides, it hardly even matters anymore.
