RNC Joins John O’Neill in Swiftboating Murtha

RNC Joins John O'Neill in Swiftboating Murtha

Thought I'd share a taste of what I've received this morning…

I just fond out about that crappy traiter mertha. why do you suport him? hes an embarisment to MY contry. you him and the rest of you idiots need to leave America NOW! – cmctav

UPDATE: I was sent an email not long ago, announcing the journey of Max Cleland and Eric Massa to Pennsylvania to support John Murtha. I was told about it, Cleland's role, yesterday, but it hadn't broken yet. Massa's diary on DKos is fantastic.

NEW ANNOUNCMENT – HERE FIRST.

Tomorrow I will depart the Clark event and travel to Johnstown PA to stand with Senator Max Cleland as he and I and others stand to defend Congressman Jack Murtha from the spineless author of Unfit for Command – O’Neil. Apparently O’Neil is going to Murtha's District to attack the Congressman because the Congressman disagrees with the neo conservative armchair military second guessers in the White House.

I'm going to stand with John Murtha because I will not see my Nation taken over by a bunch of Swift Boating political opportunists. I will be putting my time, energy, and money where my beliefs are – in support of great American who is telling it like it is – Congressman Murtha. Because this race is all about integrity and folks like and Clark and Murtha have more of that in their thumbs than the swift boating opportunists have in this entire lives.

Lawrence O'Donnell smackdown with John O'Neill

It's all about Iraq.

Republicans are in serious trouble so they're pulling out all the stops.

The Republican National Committee is putting no daylight whatsoever between
themselves and the swiftboating of John Murtha. Here's a pdf
that lays it out.

Now see the little white flags in the corner of the pdf? When James Boyce called me yesterday to tell me about the event being planned against Murtha, he said there was a rumor that everyone at the event would be waving little white flags. Evidently, that little rumor could be true.

On Thursday, there will be a
gathering of the swiftboaters
. Of course, they've dropped the \”swiftboat\”
part, because it carries so much negative baggage, using only \”Vets for
Truth.\” Truth is the last thing these people are interested in promoting.
They're gunning for John Murtha, but actually using him to make a national campaign out of Iraq.

I agree, let's make the 2006 elections about Iraq; a referendum on George W. Bush to be exact. (That goes for you too, Joe.) If you want out of Iraq sooner than 10 years, you need to vote Democratic, because the Republicans plan to stay until the last U.S. soldier dies. Their political party depends on the outcome of Iraq.

The “Swift Boat” veterans who grabbed national headlines in 2004
when they attacked John Kerry in his failed presidential bid now are turning
their sights to Johnstown.

Their target is U.S. Rep. John Murtha, a critic of the Iraq war and a de
facto spokesman on the subject for the national Democratic Party.

Armed as a new group – Veterans for the Truth – they’re
bringing their campaign to “Redeploy John Murtha From Congress”
to his backyard.

They plan to hold a national rally in Johnstown in October “to show
their outrage at John Murtha over what he is saying about our troops,”
state chairman and former Johnstowner Mark Parker said in a release.

Details of the rally will be outlined at a news conference at 11 a.m. Thursday
in front of Murtha’s office at 647 Main St. …

set sights on Murtha

The Patriot Project will be pushing back. Stay tuned.
