Laura Rozen dissects Sen. Rick Santorum\’s appearance on Meet the Press on Sunday in which Santorum discusses Iranian influence in Iraq . Tim Russert also grills Santorum on intelligence about Iraqi WMD and Santorum\’s assertion Saddam Hussein had ties to terror organizations including al Quaeda.
Sean-Paul Kelley at The Agonist points us to a story about John McCain\’s visit to the Republic of Georgia last week in which a missile was fired at the Senator and Presidential wannabe.
Sean-Paul also points out that former Iranian President Mohammed Khatami is visiting Chicago with barely a mention in the media. This is despite the fact that he is the highest ranking Iranian official to have visited the US since 1979\’s Islamic Revolution in Iran .
The WaPo via RawStory is reporting Democrats are finding support for their proposed vote of no confidence in Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. Action is expected this week on the bill when Congress returns after the Labor Day holiday.
