RNC
Taps Homeless-Hustling Pol for New Chief
Now that's a headline.
Michael Steele, who wouldn't embrace being a Republican, calling it a “scarlet
R,” is going to take Ken Mehlman's old job at the RNC.
I guess after the race baiting in Tennessee and George Allen's noose, changing
color and sexual orientation the man at the top was the way to go. It would
help if Republicans actually changed their race baiting campaigns, but that's
not likely to happen. At least they got the news they had to do something, however
cosmetic. Because make no mistake about it, Michael Steele is a hustler. We're
going to be seeing a lot of him.
Is that why some big shot DC Dems want to push out Howard Dean? Carville
volunteers Harold Ford. I thought Tuesday's WIPE OUT might have dented the
pointy heads on the fringe of the Democratic Party. Even I became a convert
of Howard Dean's 50 state strategy, which, since you haven't noticed, Mr. Carville,
worked. Something else is up. Read Markos for the bottom line.
UPDATE: I meant to also offer the Salon link to Conason's piece entitled, “Howard Dean, vindicated.”
