One by one President Ahmadinejad shook the sailors hands. Releasing all of them was his "gift"
to Britain.
Pelosi doing diplomacy in Syria. Ahmadinejad doing some sort of diplomatic
act out of Iran. It seems the only guy who doesn’t do diplomacy is Mr. Bush.
Because even though this was not entirely the Iranian president’s decision he got to announce
the release of the Brit sailors.

release the detained 15 British sailors and marines Wednesday as an Easter
gift to the British people.Iranian state television later showed the British sailors talking to Ahmadinejad
at the country’s presidential palace apparently minutes before they were to
be freed.The footage showed Ahmadinejad shaking hands with the sailors and smiling

Did the U.N. Security Council condemnation help or hurt? It’s clear that’s
when the whole situation got, shall we say, a little tense. So then PM Blair
calmed the situation down and used a bit more patience and behind the scene state craft.
It will be interesting how wingnut radio deals with this development. Sean
Hannity was hoping for war. But then again so was Mr. Bush. He likely still is.
