Democrats Gain on National Security

Republicans cement their xeonophobia, while Democrats gain on the economy,
the War in Iraq, Government Ethics, but most important for me is that we lead Republicans by 4
points on national security.

Rasmussen Reports updates these tracking polls in separate banks of five
issues at a time. In our previous update, Democrats gained modest ground on
four of the five issues. However, there was one major exception to the trend
and the Republicans gained ground on immigration. Some Republicans have been
seen as taking the lead on trying to defeat an immigration bill that is far
more popular in Congress than among the general public. While Republicans
gained ground on immigration, Democrats gained a net two points on the economy,
four points on national security, four points on the War in Iraq, and five
points on Government Ethics and Corruption.

On Taxes: 44% Trust Democrats, 40% Favor the GOP

Rush was bemoaning the numbers today on the air, his voice so high in his throat
he sounded like a squealing stuffed pig. It’s just incomprehensible for wingnut
radio hosts to understand that their credibility on managing foreign affairs
and our national security strategy is no longer trusted. Even as Democrats have
failed miserably to move the Iraq debate forward enough, some voting for the
supplemental that went against the country’s and military interests, the people still understand
that Democrats are more responsible and competent than Republicans, especially on matters of national security. After seeing Republicans in action and what has manifested from their abject incompetence the people get it.
