Evidently, Fox “News” didn’t get Grover’s memo.
“The one-paragraph explanation of what we’re doing in Iraq has
to have the word ‘leaving’ in there,” said Grover Norquist,
a conservative leader and the head of Americans for Tax Reform. “If
Bush would move to ‘leaving,’ then other people, including the
MoveOn.org people and the [Democrats], move to a more extreme position than
you have, because they have put themselves in the anti-Bush position.”
This is incredible. Fox “News” pimping a Patton parody video on YouTube
in order to push propaganda for the Iraq war. I got it via email and thought
I’d share it.
So next time you hear “fair and balanced” you’ll know precisely what
that means. Paraphrasing what Cenk of The Young Turks wrote in
a post, it’s all editorializing all the time. It’s just one of the reasons
I’ve had “news” in quotes for months and months, whenever I talk about
Fox.
Maybe the White House should roll out “Old Blood and Guts” the
next time it tries to explain why the U.S. is fighting in Iraq.A video posted on YouTube features the well-known scene from the movie “Patton,”
with George C. Scott standing in front of an enormous American flag. This time, however, the famous World War II general isn’t urging his troops
to defeat the Nazis on the eve of the Allied invasion of France — this
version features the voice of comedian Mike Kaminski delivering a Patton-like
explanation of why the U.S. is fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan, against Al Qaeda,
and the danger posed by an Iran possessing nuclear weapons.Click here to view the video on YouTube. … ..
