General Wes Clark Endorses Hillary Clinton updated

“I think she’s a rock. … I think Senator Clinton is ready
to lead. … I think Senator Clinton is the total package.”
– General Wesley Clark
I’ll wake up early on any day to talk to Wesley Clark.
Clark said this morning in a blogger conference call that Clinton has the “judgment, experience,
does her homework to the full capacity” and he believes she should
be president.
“She believes we should be withdrawing forces, so do I.” – Wesley Clark
Clinton and Clark agree that diplomacy must be up front in the entire region. There will be no permanent
presence in Iraq.
I asked what General Clark thought about Clinton, the first woman, being commander
in chief. He said she was prepared, that she’d seen war torn countries, been
to Bosnia, as well as Afghanistan, and that the troops would be “proud
of their commander in chief.”
On the question of his role in the campaign or whether he’d consider being vice president, Clark said nothing concrete has been discussed about his role and that the vice presidency is basically nothing he’s contemplating right now.
This endorsement does not come as a surprise, but it is certainly a welcome
one. Clark has been pushing, along with VoteVets.org, to stop any war with Iran,
as well as end the Iraq war. He’s a respected man among many who will vote in
the primaries, and his prowess as a military man is unmatched.
