to imagine the cringe factor and political anguish Republicans felt while watching this man in primetime.
Couldn’t happen to a more craven bunch of hypocrites.
Some classic comments from Craig’s constituents:
Robert: Larry tried to cover this incident until then he was found out. His first comment that he was not gay. If he is not gay and was not going to do something a sex act in the restroom he should take a lie detector. I am ashamed that he’s a Senator from Idaho. He should resign right now.
Unknown: I think he should be impeached. After all they impeached Clinton for not having sex.
Jeanette: Why is he still in office? Telling us he will step down is just another lie. I don’t care if he is gay, it is the lies he is telling that is wrong. I will not vote again for Crapo or anyone that is supporting Larry Craig.
Ron: I don’t care about Larry Craig’s sexual preference. That is his business. I do care that, because of his reckless actions, he has limited his ability to speak for the people who elected him. I find his explaination of events leading to his arrest laughable. I take it as an insult for him to think anyone would accept such a load of garbage.
Mi: Larry Craig has voted against every piece of same sex legislation that has crossed his desk. He’s a hypocrite, he’s a blatant liar and he needs to go!
Ron: I’ve traveled all over the world, and in the process have used a multitude of “stalls”. Never, ever have I had anyone’s foot appear near one of mine. Wide stance? You’d have to remove your pants to have a stance sufficiently wide. That defense in and of itself was enough to convince me that the Senator was simply lying. He should resign now. He’s dragging our great State down with him. I now make sure to watch Jay Leno’s monalogues to hear the latest Craig jokes. How bad is that…..!
