| VIDEO: Clinton in Florissant, Mo. (excerpt) (doesn’t work in Firefox) |
After her Nevada victory, her third in a row following New Hampshire and Michigan, Clinton headed for Missouri. Florissant, Missouri, that is, where I grew up. She was exhausted and didn’t have her whole voice, but she made her case, doing so in a fabulous red ensemble. Catch the “Husbands for Hillary” sign. Got to love it.
It got me to thinking about something Harry Truman said a long time ago.
“I never did give anybody hell. I just told the truth and they thought it was hell.” – Harry S. Truman
I guess born a Missourian, always a Missourian, because that’s kind of how I’ve felt throughout the primary season. I’ve been telling the truth about Obama for a very long time. A couple of so called progressive males have sent emails warning me to be quiet, with a select few allowing smear diaries targeting me, regardless that the truth lies elsewhere. Of course, these are also the same males backing Obama, so at the very worst it’s kept me entertained. I guess for them the truth really is hell, especially coming from a feisty broad like me.
Meanwhile, get ready, because the South Carolina debate will air on CNN later today and it should be a barn burner. Obama’s down three primaries in a row. He absolutely must win South Carolina, with all signs pointing to a victory. If I had to guess, I’d bet this debate will not be a replay of Vegas from Obama, which played out very well for Clinton. As for Edwards, there’s nothing more dangerous, shall we say, than a man who’s got nothing to lose.
Earlier this month, Bill Clinton had harsh words regarding Obama’s stance against the Iraq war.
He said Obama “got to go through 15 debates trumpeting his superior judgment and how he had been against the war in every year, enumerating the years, and never got asked one time, not once, ‘Well, how could you say that when you said in 2004 you didn’t know how you would have voted on the resolution, you said in 2004 there was no difference between you and George Bush on the war, and you took that speech you’re now running on off your Web site in 2004, and there’s no difference in your voting record and Hillary’s ever since.” … ..
