Clinton – Obama – Edwards Round Up
–UPDATED–
First there’s Clinton
on all three morning shows today. That’s where Matt Lauer surprised Clinton
with the Rezko picture, which was taken during Bill Clinton’s presidency. Halperin asks the question that first popped into my mind: Where did “Today”
get that picture? It’s not a small question, especially since you have the Obama
camp pressuring CNN to drop Begala and Carville. Not that I disagree with that,
unless they’re on as pro Clinton analysts, which I see no problem with at all.
But the Obama camp was directly involved in pressuring CNN. Again, where did
Lauer get the photo and why didn’t he disclose how he came upon the photo one, which suddenly appears one day before the South Carolina primary, especially when there’s so much on Obama and Rezko to discuss?
Forgot this link, so to add, (h/t tirkana) when it comes to Rezko donations, John Kerry (who is backing Obama) got cash, with Obama leading the Rezko money list, but Clinton is nowhere to be found.
As for the video above (h/t
Ben Smith), it’s a reminder from Team Edwards that there is a third
person in the race. Oh, and he’s making some noise in South Carolina.
Don’t miss America’s
fastest-growing quiz sensation is “What Obama Really Meant.” It is priceless, especially on the Obamabots:
3. The Obama Fan Base encircles the Progressives and shouts rebuttals, such
as:He said “Children are the future!” Isn’t that the greatest
thing you ever heard? When he said “liberal heathens,” he meant, um, something really
good. Definitely. And the way he said it was inspirational! Why must you hate Obama!? Why do you love Hillary so much!? If Hillary is
nominated, we won’t vote, you Unity destroyer!Don’t you know that a black man can’t be elected unless he throws
progressives under the bus?You dirty hippies had your turn, and you ruined everything. Now it’s
our turn, and God as my witness, the mellow will never be harshed again!Ponies, dude. Ponies! Get with the program!
Eriposte has several post offerings, done in his usual style:
Sen. Obama’s
Politics of Distortion
But I finish with a
real classic from Andrew Sullivan (compliments of read BMerry in Hot
Topics), which illustrates what the Corrente post, “What Obama Really
Meant” is talking about when it comes to Obama’s crazed fans. Evidently
Sullivan is so frustrated, he wants to channel the wingnuts of the 1990s and
go digging for dirt in the Clintons’ marriage.
There is no reason a constitutional republic should be forced to sacrifice
its principles this way. This basic issue of accountability needs to be placed
firmly on the table. One option for Barack Obama is to demand now that all
the records of the Clintons’ marital/political dealings with each other in
their first two terms be released in full for public inspection.
Mr. Hope’s fans revealed. I don’t know about you, but every time I read Sullivan on Obama I feel like a need to shower. There’s something very creepy about his Obama worship.
UPDATE: Just in from South Carolina, compliments of a reader email, Obama roundtable follows the script:
… The Barack Obama campaign organized an “economic roundtable” of South Carolinians, scheduled with the Illinois senator for 11:30 a.m. today. But nearly an hour and a half before the event — at 9:36 a.m. — the campaign e-mailed to reporters a text of what the participants “said.” …
UPDATE: This is a classic! Obama gets intimate. Heh-heh.
