Back after a break Clinton needs to up her game. Obama is even with her, proving that he’s her equal in the eyes of voters. Clinton is not talking to a general election audience at this point. She’s got to convince voters she’s the better choice for them to make. It hasn’t happened so far.
5:50… John King decides to make them mix it up since they’re not doing it themselves.
Clinton: On the a cable show recently… Insert Name One Accomplishment line here. Nicely put, not “shrill.” Obviously, Clinton’s not going to hit Obama in a way that she gets blowback. Words are one thing, but it takes action.
Obama: Fundamental difference between us on how change happens. Mentions “let’s get real” line from Clinton. Insinuating his supporters are “delusional.” Mentions all of his endorsements. Somehow they’re being duped? They are judging Washington as the problem. Bring people together. Stop bickering. etc. .. .. If we can’t “inspire” people to get involved and get beyond our political divisions, gridlock will continue. …
Plagiarism: RUH-OH, Obama just screwed up big time. He said there weren’t a lot of times but only “2 times.” This is absolutely false. Get ready for a YouTube on this one. Big problems for him on this one, especially if it becomes a quick ad. But he is scoring points with the audience.
Clinton smiles, plotting the ads to come in her head.
Obama: “silly season” of politics.
6:00… Clinton: Speeches should be your own words, not “words you can Xerox.” He was upset by it. Audience booed.
