Obama’s Campaign Aide Takes Notes on Rezko… and other notes of interest on primary Tuesday

Tony Rezko’s wife, family members and friends crowded behind him onto a courtroom bench. Spectators spilled into an overflow courtroom. Among them was a staffer from U.S. Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, taking detailed notes.

People need to relax, Clinton’s
will still be in the race
after tonight. If she wins tonight, two-thirds of Dems want her to stay in. But she does need to win.

Democrats by more than a 2-1 margin say Hillary Clinton should stay in the
presidential race even if she loses either the Texas or Ohio primary on Tuesday.
But if she fails in both, fewer than half say they’d want her to fight on.

“It’s so ludicrous that it’s almost comical . . . . And
the whole crying now before every primary? You’ve got to be kidding
me.”

Dana Milbank nails Obama’s
press pout
:

The day before primaries in Ohio and Texas that could effectively seal the
Democratic presidential nomination for him, a smiling Obama strode out to
a news conference at a veterans facility here. But the grin was quickly replaced
by the surprised look of a man bitten by his own dog. … ..

… .. Obama responded with the classic phrases of a politician in trouble. “That
was the information that I had at the time. . . . Those charges are completely
unrelated to me. . . . I have said that that was a mistake. . . . The fact
pattern remains unchanged.”

When those failed, Obama tried another approach. “We’re running late,”
the candidate said, and then he disappeared behind a curtain.

Whatever Barack thought his relationship with the press, it’s not what it used to be. What a difference getting caught in a whopper makes.
