There Goes Florida

McCain
takes out Obama
in a general election Florida match up.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Florida shows McCain
attracting 53% of the vote while Obama earns 38%
.

Oh, and speaking of Florida, you know that rumor about Al Gore allegedly pairing
with Jimmy Carter to resolve the primary fight? Pure rubbish. I heard it from
Gore’s communication’s director Kalee D. Kreider today via email. Krider said
they tried to get a retraction, but the Scotland wouldn’t do it. Repeat after
me: Gore is not involved in the primary. Period. Frankly, I never believed
the report; Gore’s much too smart to get involved in this mess.

As for Clinton v. McCain in Florida, it’s a toss-up:

If McCain is matched against Hillary Clinton, the race is a toss-up—Clinton
45% McCain 44%.

Lord knows what other swing states we’ll lose once the 527s get involved. Combine
Wright and Bitter-gate, and you’ve got quite a gift. It’s also obvious Obama
isn’t going to make it any easier for Democrats if he’s the nominee. Here’s
his idea of trying to make things better after Obama’s insert foot "bitter"
moment imploded, via
the Washington Post:

"… .. As I said yesterday, I regret some of the words I chose, partly
because the way that these remarks have been interpreted have offended some
people and partly because they’ve served as one more distraction from the
critical debate that we must have in this election. .. .." – Barack Obama

Translation: It’s our fault he sounds like an elitist. Got it.
