Clinton Gaining

Can one man stop Clinton’s rise?

So much for Obama’s sure thing. The momentum has clearly shifted to Clinton
in the Tar Heel State (though there is time for it to shift back). Volatile
seems to be the best way to characterize it. That’s bad news for Barack Obama,
because not too long ago the state was his in a walk. No one is saying Clinton
will win North Carolina, but she’s making him fight there, which he wasn’t expecting at all.

North Carolina’s Democratic presidential primary is tightening, with Sen.
Barack Obama’s struggles over his controversial former pastor apparently eroding
his once formidable lead here.

The Tar Heel state was once seen as Obama’s to lose. But three different
public opinion polls conducted in recent days suggest that New York Sen. Hillary
Clinton has been cutting the gap.

The Raleigh-based Public Policy Polling has found that Obama’s one-time lead
of 25 points has decreased to 12 points. A SurveyUSA poll found that Obama’s
9 point lead is now down to 5 points, while Rasmussen’s poll has Obama’s lead
dropping from 23 to 14 points. … ..

Clinton cutting
into Obama’s lead in North Carolina

Indiana’s not going to be a cake walk for him either. Rasmussen
has her up by 5 points. This headline for Obama doesn’t help: Indiana
black voters feeling ignored.

I’m also with Big
Tent Democrat
on this one. Democratic National Committee Chairman Joe Andrew
is not only wrong, but has appalling
logic
. The people’s decision isn’t important at this point. Some superdelegates
are getting nervous. Waaaaaah-wah-waaaaaaaaah.

A leader of the Democratic Party under Bill Clinton switched his allegiance
to Barack Obama on Thursday and urged fellow Democrats to end the bruising
nomination fight. “This has got to come to an end,” former Democratic
National Committee Chairman Joe Andrew told reporters in his hometown of Indianapolis
just days before Tuesday’s crucial state primary. He said he planned to call
all the other superdelegates he knows and encourage them to back Obama. …

Then Mr. Andrew runs straight to ABC, offering his own “bruising” two cents. What a guy. Clinton “attack dogs.” Yeah, that helps. No argument in favor of Obama, just that poor Joe is a-fwaid
that if we continue to let the people decide things will get too negative, while making sure it is.

So, STOP THE VOTING is the signal. Stop the fight for who’s the best candidate to win in November, even though Obama hasn’t closed the deal, and Clinton is gaining. No wonder we lose presidential elections.
