Obama Channels Carter

BY TAYLOR MARSH

Image is everything

Oh good grief. You can’t make this
stuff up
.

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes
on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are
going to say OK,” Obama said.
“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.

At least he didn’t have a sweater on, wasn’t sitting on a bicycle, and eating
a celery stick when he said it. But it’s statements like this that make Democrats
like me cringe. It also reminds me of a time when I was standing in gas lines
in New York City. TIME called President Carter “Jimmy
Cardigan.”
We all know how that turned out. Reagan Democrats were born.
What Democrats like Carter and Obama don’t understand is that it doesn’t matter
if your intentions are pure and your intent correct. Image drives elections.
It also makes a nominee president… or not. Pureness of heart, soul
or spirit, as in Carter’s case, has nothing to do with it.

Does anyone know if Obama windsurfs?

Obama seems hell bent on trying to lose the general election the day before
he declares “victory,” even though he’s not got the numbers to win
the nomination yet… while simultaneously stiffing Michigan and Florida.

Somebody save us from ourselves.
