Above is a graphic off the DNC website.
It says it all.
I’ve said it before, but I will reiterate it again. Hillary Clinton will not contest the nomination process to the convention. There will be no “on to Denver.” Don’t believe me? It’s exactly what Lisa Caputo said today on “Hardball.” Few have been closer to Clinton than Caputo over the years.
There’s a lot of respect earned for Hillary Clinton, which is unending for me. I didn’t give this respect and support lightly.
As my friend Joan Walsh said today as well, her mother’s birthday is today.
On “Hardball,” David Corn’s head about popped off with indignation over Clinton’s speech last night. But his behavior in Clinton conference calls were similar so you can’t expect anything less.
But when Pat Buchanan starts talking about the grace of Obama, and giving Clinton time, while simultaneously telling Matthews to quit beating up on her, you’ve got to know this is another over the top hit job on Hillary. All the while, mind you, that Matthews’ chortled that Buchanan was actually on some mission for John McCain. Buchanan with McCain talking points? Matthews is daft.
The traditional media and cable talking head pile on is yet another insult to Clinton and her supporters. These hacks have no interest in uniting Democrats. Remember that. Their attacks on Hillary are making a tense situation, while people come to grips with Obama’s clinching of the nomination, much worse. It plays right into McCain’s hands.
Oh, and I should add that anyone who thinks Hillary Clinton isn’t being gracious towards Senator Obama obviously didn’t hear Hillary today at AIPAC. She vouched for him in a setting that couldn’t have been more important or symbolic.
“I know Senator Obama knows what is at stake here,” Clinton said, adding, “Let me be very clear: I know Senator Obama will be a good friend to Israel.”
