Saudi Arabia and nuclear energy? Condi’s
been busy
, no doubt balancing Shia with Sunni. Another pop quiz entry for McCain.

Last month, while the American people were becoming the personal ATMs of
the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice was in Saudi Arabia signing away an even more valuable gift:
nuclear technology. In a ceremony little-noticed in this country, Ms. Rice
volunteered the U.S. to assist Saudi Arabia in developing nuclear reactors,
training nuclear engineers, and constructing nuclear infrastructure. While
oil breaks records at $130 per barrel or more, the American consumer is footing
the bill for Saudi Arabia’s nuclear ambitions….

…and Dennis Kucinich just made Nancy Pelosi’s head explode. Articles
of Impeachment against George W. Bush
for one hundred, Alex:

“In his conduct while President of the United States, George W. Bush,
in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of
president of the United States, and to the best of his ability preserve, protect
and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his
constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has
committed the following abuses of power…”

The first article Kucinich presented, and many that followed, regarded the
war in Iraq: “Article 1 – Creating a secret propaganda campaign to manufacture
a false case for war against Iraq.”…

Via
Juan Cole
, “Khamenei to al-Maliki that the most important and fundamental
problem for Iraq at present is the presence of Occupation forces. … He affirmed,
“We are certain that the people of Iraq, through their intrinsic unity
and effort, will cross over these difficult conditions and arrive at a place
befitting them. The dream of the Americans most certainly will never be realized.”

One more to add… According to rumors circulating, now reports with a link (via email from “cd”), Clinton released her delegates late last night.

Hillary Clinton on Monday asked Democratic primary delegates who would have supported her in her presidential bid to back her former rival Barack Obama. The request came in a Monday night teleconference, said Virgil J. Mayberry, a Rock Island County Board member and one of Sen. Clinton’s delegates. Sen. Clinton threw her support behind Sen. Obama Saturday after suspending her campaign.. Mr. Mayberry said Sen. Clinton talked for about five minutes to Democratic national convention delegates from all over the country. …

What are you reading in the paper, on the blogs, seeing on cable? Anything
interesting? Link ‘em if you’ve got ‘em.

TM NOTE: There’s “release” in DNC terms, then there’s “release” in that Clinton has asked her delegates to support Obama: “And she urged them to get behind Sen. Obama and to work just as hard to elect him president.” That’s the bottom line. This post has a fuller explanation of the technicalities in the word “release,” as well as a statement I received from the Clinton camp, upon request. Again, DNC rules mean one thing, but the effective reality is that Clinton pledged delegates have been asked by HRC to support Obama and work hard to get him elected, so they are free from their pledge to Clinton. So “Release” in the headline has now been put in quotes to differentiate between what I believe is “release” and the DNC rules of what release means. It’s like “concede” and “suspend,” with one allowing a candidate to free themselves from debt, among other things, while withdrawing and other technicalities brings restrictions from the FEC, etc. But the result is that Clinton’s pledged delegates have been “released” from their pledge to Clinton at the convention and have the choice to support her if they want. By very definition, though not DNC rules, that is “released.”
