This is a move to peel off disaffected HRC voters. I guess McCain thinks they’re stupid and willing to vote for any woman. Rabidly pro life, an NRA member, she’s not exactly a champion of women’s civil rights. We’ll have to see where she stands on health care and equal pay. But one thing this does is keep Hillary Clinton in the forefront throughout the general election. We’ll be hearing the phrase “Hillary Clinton voters” until November.
But McCain has picked someone who gives him some excitement, especially if you are into moose burgers!
Palin has been in office for only two years, is 44 years old, but hey, she looks great on the cover of Vogue. (To add, yes this is snark and the cover is a tease.) But as a former Miss Mo., I can’t really fault her choice of pr. However, you can bet her beauty queen creds will be used against her. Sarah, I feel your pain.
“Freshness” is her key component against Joe Biden’s foreign policy experience, according to Kay Bailey Hutchison. Hmmmm… okay.
This is the long ball. Obviously, John McCain knows he cannot win without a real hail Mary. This is that and then some. But one thing is for sure. This will shake up things a great deal, because everyone will be looking her way, because no one knows anything about Sarah Palin, except her constituents in Alaska. Bill Kristol is smiling.
McCain finally may get some attention.
