Besides the fact that he was the co-chair of the neocon pro-war Committee for
the Liberation of Iraq? That his friends on that committee included Bill Krisol,
Joe Lieberman, James Woolsey and Randy Scheunemann. Oh, and one more, John McCain. You can bet that’s why he’s in the running though. The old Democratic ghost of being afraid of not looking “strong on defense” has reared it’s ugly head once again. With Obama being against the Iraq war, how could it not? Steve Clemons has more.
Something tells me Democrats have their fingers in the wind again. From The New York Times yesterday:
“The antiwar people cannot define the Democratic Party,” said Al From, a founder of the centrist Democratic Leadership Council, of which Mr. Bayh was chairman for four years. “I think Evan’s real strength is you get someone on the ticket who has a record of being strong on national security, and that is a very important quality to have.”
You judge for yourself Bayh’s voting
record on women’s civil rights.
Let me know your thoughts on Evan Bayh. He’s been speculated about before. Frankly, for a season that started
out with so much promise, it’s starting to look straight down hill from here.
Evan Bayh as veep is simply wrong. All wrong.
