At long last, after being swiftboated by his own party, John McCain takes center stage. His stature has risen in the last 24 hours, after the hail Mary of all times, regardless of his cluelessness about the challenges facing middle class families, but most importantly, the daunting diplomatic struggles we face after the disastrous presidency of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. McCain might have been the right man for the previous decades, but for the 21st century, McCain is not the guy.
John McCain’s moment is now. He’s just the wrong man for the times.
