Update via CBS News: After media outlets complained to the McCain/Palin campaign about its attempt to prevent an editorial presence at Gov. Palin’s first meeting of the day, a pool producer was allowed in to the photo spray with Palin and Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

Journalists, displeased with Sarah Palin’s efforts to restrict their
access to her, are threatening not to cover her events surrounding the United
Nations conference here unless they’re allowed more access.The unfolding boycott is the latest development in a rocky relationship between
Palin’s handlers and the press, in which the campaign has sought to
tightly control her interactions with the media….
The only way Palin can keep her image intact is to keep scrutiny and access out. Behind the
facade lies a fanatic. The only hope McCain has is to keep the Palin maverick,
reformer, outsider, yada-yada-yada wingnut heroine mythologizing alive.
