Chuck Todd on McCain-Palin: ‘They’re on the verge of pulling a Bullworth’

Well, if this is a gimmick to get people to watch the Williams’ interview tonight, it worked with me.

NBC’s Brian Williams interviews McCain-Palin tonight, so he was teasing it on “Hardball.” Chuck Todd had an interesting
take, as he watched the interview taping. He noticed a “tenseness” between McCain and Palin that airs tonight.

“It’s a negative intensity. … The chemistry is not all. there.
…Whatever it is, there’s a negative vibe in that room. … … I can’t emphasize
enough the odd body language. … I didn’t see any chemistry here. … You
almost wondered why they wanted the two of them sitting next to each other.”
- Chuck Todd

He even used the word “blame,” wondering if they were starting to
assess whose fault it is that the ticket is cratering.

Todd went on to say that it’s a very dangerous time for the McCain camp, wondering “Is the campaign losing its “cohesion”?” Also mentioning the NYT story that’s coming out this weekend.

Here’s hoping.
