John McCain’s Viagra

Catching up with trash talkin’ Sarah tonight. Starting with something that happened this morning.

Mika Brzezinski, this one’s for you. Because you stood up to Joe Scarborough and that lovable wingnut Patrick J. Buchanan, neither of whom seem to get it. Early this morning, Joe went on a verbal rampage about the “traditional media” not being fair to poor, little Sarah. Buchanan joined in. Joe said that nobody talked about the questions Sarah asked of Biden in the debate that he didn’t answer, but that everyone was on poor Sarah. The facts are that if you listened to the debate, Biden at least answered Ifill’s question, while also veering off when he wanted. But on substance, Biden wiped Sarah Palin off the stage. Oh! But Sarah was so telegenic! She’s beautiful! As Buchanan cooed, Sarah has the Republicans so excited! Ms. Brzezinski called both Joe and Patrick on it. It’s the men who love her, she said, rolling her eyes. It got quite testy between Brzezinski and the boys, which is likely why the video isn’t available. What wasn’t said is that no man alive could come off with such rambling, non-sensical gibberish in a vice presidential de— Wait a minute. If a man was so policy unqualified he’d never make the cut. But Sarah sure has the men wrapped around her finger. The camera loves her. Hey, good for her. That’s part of politics. It’s not so good for the country if that’s all you have to offer. And as you can see in the video above, the voters aren’t buying she’s qualified, which was Brzezinski’s point, though it was lost on the men coming to Sarah’s rescue.

Let’s face it, Sarah can fend for herself. For all the “g” droppin’, it seems pretty clear that Sarah “trash talkin’” Palin has a queen complex. A dictatorial queen complex at that. Even as a vice presidential nominee, she doesn’t feel compelled to be truthful and forthright. She doesn’t feel she owes answers to anyone.

One of the personality traits of Sarah Palin we’ve all seen is that when she doesn’t want to answer a question because she doesn’t know the answer, she talks about what she wants. In fact, being in front of the camera seems to give her permission to give a pr speech. She’ll choose what the people want to hear. Sarah also cannot admit an error or bad performance. It’s someone else’s fault, or she simply makes up an excuse.

Now we come to find out that Sarah was simply “a little bit annoyed” when she rhetorically collapsed in those Katie Couric interviews. Via Huffington Post:

“The Sarah Palin in those interviews was a little bit annoyed,” she said. “It’s like, man, no matter what you say, you are going to get clobbered. If you choose to answer a question, you are going to get clobbered on the answer. If you choose to try to pivot and go to another subject that you believe that Americans want to hear about, you get clobbered for that too.”

Ri-iight.

In other words, she’s afraid she won’t give the correct answer. If she talks about what she wants to talk about there are fewer risks because she’s in control. Sarah’s also worried about bein’ judged. Doin’ somethin’ wrong that will hurt her image, while trash talkin’ Democrats across America with a smile on her face.

So is it any wonder that Joe Lieberman is in love?

It was jarring, however, to hear Lieberman’s full-throated endorsement of Sarah Palin, a woman with whom he has no prior relationship, and whose policy credentials you have to think the wonky 20-year Senator would find suspect in any other context.

“She’s so strong, she’s so capable, she’s so competent,” Lieberman told the cheering crowd. Emphasizing her “faith,” he added that she is someone who “with your help–and God’s help–will be the next vice president of the United States.” More big cheers.

The religiousity (sic) continued when Palin bounded onstage. She commented right away on the number of American flags in the crowd, declaring: “God bless America–you guys get it!”

Can a Sarah fan club be far behind? Though as negative as she’s goin’ one wonders what her legacy will be if McCain gets trounced in November.
