BY TAYLOR MARSH
One specific disaster moment last night for McCain? When he warned voters that Social Security won’t be there when we need it. In fact, if anyone had listened to Republicans like McCain, we’d have it invested in the stock market. Think about that for a moment.
I think it’s very important that reform our entitlement programs. … My friends, we are not going to be able to provide the same benefit for present-day workers that we are going — that present-day retirees have today. We’re going to have to sit down across the table, Republican and Democrat, as we did in 1983 between Ronald Reagan and Tip O’Neill.
According to Ben Smith, Republicans actually like “that one,” so get prepared to hear it a lot. If they do, that proves just how clueless they are.
My favorite headline today, however, has to do with Bush and the bailout. From McClatchy: Latin leftists gloating over ‘Comrade’ Bush’s bailout.
They don’t call him President Bush in Venezuela anymore.
Now he’s known as “Comrade.”
Seriously, is it good to be a Democrat today or what?
