Tip O’Neill’s After Hours Salon

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g32oijfkhH4

Well, this certainly seems fitting in the afterglow of Republican stiffing the new, popular President, all the while people are freezing because of a failed power grid. Nope, can’t spend money on that.

But when it’s Tip O’Neill time that means we enjoy our favorite beverage, putting all worries on ice. Free for all as to topic, just leave your troubles behind.

The first one’s on me.

While I understand your enthusiasm for the Flying Loafer party I’m rooting for the women who are running in the Iraqi elections. I just caught part of the piece on NBC News. There’s one lady who wants much needed social programs for the country and another lady running who doesn’t wear the “scarf.” Let’s hope the morality police don’t go after them because I think it’s women who will bring change to Iraq.

I was reading an article on the Daily Beast a short while ago about a state called Oklahoma where the President did NOT win even a single state during the elections …

According to the article, a bunch of residents in a bar were watching a college football game involving a team from their state and another team ..

Whenever the ref. made a call favoring a member of the opposing team, there was a unanimous chant of “nigger rigging” …

My point is, I wonder what chant escaped their lips when they heard of the new chairman of their party … ?

Republicans – predictable as always …

Steven Colbert of the Colbert Report fame made a very WISE and Thoughtful pronouncement yesterday on his show that needs to be taken Quite Seriously if you think about it …

Considering the FACT that a lot ( if not All ) the Republicans in Congress ( All house Members ) are against the President’s Stimulus Bill, why NOT decide NOT TO PARTICIPATE in the Disbursement if/when the Bill is signed by the President …

Let’s see how their district/state occupants feel about being left out of the Stimulus since they apparently did NOT want it to begin with …

I think that our elected officials have to remember who they work for and who pays their salaries. It seems that they think that they’re entitled to perks that the average American could never hope for.

  42. pmichael 30 January 2009 at 9:16 pm #

    Fun conspiracy theory for ya:

Of our past *seven* presidents, FIVE have been left-handed (Ford, Reagan, Bush41, Clinton, & now Obama) with only *three* in History before that (Garfield, Hoover, & Truman). How did Carter slip through? (since we now know Bush43 was ‘a accident’ ;-)
As this is statistically almost impossible there’s obviously a conspiracy here, possibly with controllers from another planet ?

  43. GeoT 30 January 2009 at 9:29 pm #

I wonder about Palin, Huckabee, & Romney ?

I was just watching the movie “Head of State” starring Chris Rock on TBS and just by curiosity I decided to take a look at the imdb comments page regarding the movie …

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0325537/board

One particular comment title, “This would NEVER happen … ” caught my eye …

The title alone had me “loling” … Not to mention the contents …

Perhaps most interesting was the number of comments that required ‘Deletion’ due to being ‘over the top’.

    Scallops
    BIG ones
Wrap bacon around the edge and secure with toothpick…break off toothpick flush
Heat pan and put scallop on edge so bacon cooks crisp.
When the bacons crisp all the way around flip scallop onto top/bottom for two minutes then flip again.
While cooking final flip place spoon full of Jalapeno jelly on top.
With at least 4, preferably 6 or 8 in pan finishing cooking pour in a good shot of Almondean(spelling?) and flame off the alcohol
    Place finished scallops on plate
    YUM!
