What a monumental task that has gone on the last few days. A huge thanks to Lorie and her team at AgoraNet! Thanks to everyone for your patience, because this was a big job.
I’ve been writing on the web since around 1996 when I was with the LA Weekly. Blogging was just the latest saga in a log web journey. I’ve worked for others, obviously, but I’ve had my own site, which began with original programming. Once it was built, year after year I just kept tweaking it, stacking up a decade-plus worth of band-aids. When I went to blogging I had to use yet more redesign tweaks to the original programming to mimic a blog. The homepage got slower and slower, filled with too many fix its. Well, that’s all been reprogrammed, redesigned and reimagined, compliments of Lorie and her team’s redesign that now puts us in blogging software that makes the site sing.
As for Washington, D.C., I’ll be there day after tomorrow, with February all about our cross-country move. So I’ll be writing from Washington, D.C., but also from the road this month.
Welcome to our new world. It’s only going to get better from here.

When I figure out how to send them I’ll send some pics of President(then candidate) Obama at a friend of mine’s house for a fund raiser. He’s the guy who was the consultant on Dinosaurs for the Jurrasic Park movies. I can’t BELIEVE they didn’t take any pics of Candidate Obama nose to nose with the T Rex he has there(very cool, VERY scarry!) Would have been PERFECT for a pic with the title “President Obama confronts Repugnantklaners over the Stimulous Bill”
The redesign is beautiful, Taylor. Hats off to the AgoraNet team. Really first rate.

Berlin has been great so far, only that getting a phone line and Internet at home is a real pain. It takes way too long.
The city is great, lots of nice restaurants, bars, cafes, galleries, and museums. My problem is that the daylight here is kinda grey-ish.

They’re trying real hard to be relevant but they have nothing new, just obstruction.
I figured it out, the Avatar follows your email address across the web. In other words the email you use to register @ WordPress needs to be the same as you have used elsewhere. (to see the avatar on other sites)
…but I hate this one so I’m going to change it :=)

I’m overwhelmed by the 25 pages of selections at that festival. I barely got through the B’s — but I’d love to see Ben-Hur. I’ve never seen it all the way through, and a big screen seems just right.

Create a WordPress.com account. Go to “profile” and there will be a “Gravatar” bof upper right. You can upload a pic from your own files or use one you like online (copy and paste the URL)
BTW make sure the email you use @ WordPress matches what you use here and anywhere else you want the avatar to “follow” you.
