Comedy, Cocktails and Conversation

bumped

One week until Christmas, with Washington, D.C. bracing for a “massive snowstorm.” Nothing says Ho-Ho-Ho like snow.

Consider this a topic free for all. Anything goes.

Just kick back a little, take a load off, and share what’s on your mind.

Cocktails, cookie recipes and holiday dishes are encouraged. I’m drinking a big, fat Cabernet. It goes with the season and the weather.

Salut!

Great blogsite. Interested in women’s issues? How about women in Gaza? A nurse in Gaza? Fantastic and sensitive commentary…..

Open topics? Okay, fine with me.

Problem #1: We are letting people who get HUGE amounts of money to support their agenda – such as medical insurance companies – create the laws which apparently restrict them from their profits. I agree completely with the person who suggested our politicians should be *required* to wear NASCAR coats – identifying what companies are their actual ‘sponsors’ – with the largest of these being *prominent* across their chests.

Problem #2: While Michele Bachmann and others “pray” for our sick and hungry to just die and go away, I wish someone would just point out the phrase “Christian Nation” was declared an oxymoron long before they were born (“Give unto Caesar ..”) – by Jesus Himself.

Problem #3: Anyone who takes the time to read George Washington’s *Diary* or the ‘Jefferson Bible’ can quickly see our Founding Fathers thought church-going and Hebrew mythology was total nonsense (though George did see the political advantage of ‘attending church’). So for *anyone* to try and make this country into a ‘Christian Nation’ is – I’m sorry – positively insane (definition: ‘not of sound mind or mentally deranged)

    Problem #4:
Why is it that *nobody* is exposing Sarah Palin and others as the people who believe strongly in the New Testament ‘End of Days’ ? I was FURIOUS with Chris Matthews tonight (and wrote him an EMail about it) because he had Pat Buchanan literally On the Ropes while admitting he didn’t believe humans were a “part of evolution”. These people aren’t simply amusing, they are DANGEROUS, as they believe this planet is expendable. After the Rapture, we will not have any need for ‘Earth’ – so it is apparently fine to just rape it, as well as all those non-human ‘animals’ (how quickly we forget, to those people, Blacks were ‘animals’ without souls). To these people, the only reason WOMEN will be allowed in heaven is because we need someone to bring us our coffee.

“As part of an event that honored families of government employees who are overseas, the State Department invited Martha Stewart and her expert crafters to decorate several rooms at Blair House, the President’s guest house, for Christmas 2009.”

Call Senator Ben Nelson and tell him, unless he removes the anti abortion language from the final health care bill, you refuse to buy anything from his contributor Omaha Steaks and refuse to buy any Nebraska beef at your local Supermarket.

Join this third party where you don’t split votes off from the Democratic Party.

    http://WWW.DEMOCRATZ.ORG

We run a legislative political party only so you stay in the Democratic party for the purpose of voting but you leave the Democratic party for the purpose of getting legislation enacted into law.

Thanks for that link, POA. I wrote a lot about what happened in 2006. Loved the flowers.

DAUBRY… #10 and #13… PEACOCKS!!! Thanks for that.

When Matthews talks religion with Buchanan, pmichael, it’s like an episode of the “Twilight Zone.”

    Ben Nelson is lost, democratz.

Well, Iceblinkjm, she will always have to answer to Stupak-Pitts and emboldening Nelson & Casey. Huge mistake, reminding me of what Justice O’Connor has to also carry on her conscience, though you all will have to decide what’s bigger.

I’m pissed off that federal employees received a pay increase in the piece of crap that was passed mid week. You know the bill that know one is paying attention to….5,000 + earmarks, you know that one?

A pay increase and for the first time in 30 years no increase in Social Security. Evidently, screw the seniors who need it the most, but give a raise to a bunch of fat asses that average salaries way above the private sector.

Future message whenever a ‘Teabagger’ dials 911:

We’re sorry. Any assistance to you is socialistic. You really need to just help yourself.

120,000 US troops in Iraq; 100,000 troops in Afghanistan; a secret CIA war in Pakistan; missiles being fired into Yemen and Sudan; thousands of NATO troops in most of these countries; and on top of that Obama is increasing the santions on Iran (see Stuart A. Levey) trying to trigger a military confrontation——-when can we begin calling all of this military activity in all of these countries a World War? Peace
