As for Maureen Dowd’s column on Karzai, Gates and the reality staring us in the face in Afghanistan. It boils down to one thing: we’ve lost our leverage. The thought process and analysis that goes with that assessment is not good for any of us. It’s an unsettling dynamic when someone like Pres. Karzai delights in publicly preening for the press at his principle benefactor’s expense by way of a barely veiled taunt.
And with weird rhetorical structure only Maureen Dowd could concoct, she once again reverts to her wacky sexual metaphors.
Needling his American sugar daddy, the Afghan peacock observed: “For another 15 to 20 years, Afghanistan will not be able to sustain a force of that nature and capability with its own resources.”
Sugar daddy and Afghan peacock? Whatever Obama is expecting in return from Karzai, someone should disabuse him of it immediately, even if Ms. Dowd is confused about the majestic bird that can’t be kept. With the reader left only to imagine the look on her face when SecDef Gates channeled Clint “A man’s got to know his limitations” Eastwood. Think middle age Gidget.
In my view Sarah Palin should have the name

The plain ol fact of the matter is Sarah Palin seems to be to all appearances a fun person. She is pretty without being that threatening beautiful of Tiger Woods harem. She dosen’t hesitate to make fun of herself or others in a, to all appearances, good natured way. She no doubt would be a scream to drink and party with in a social setting. But she is like the fun, rightwingnut Aunt some folks have. Crazy as a loon but easy on the eyes and a fun dinner guest.
She can be very natural in front of the cameras or a crowd.
If she ever learns to stay on script with a DECENT script she could be another Regean.
Since there appears to be no particular theme here. On Saturday a group of extremist Jewish settlers burned the Koran and other Islamic Holy Books inside a West Bank mosque setting it on fire. These terrorist scrawled on the mosques wall “In payment….greetings from Effi.” Effi seems to refer to Effi Eitam the leader of the Renewed Religious National Zionist Party, a militant right wing group, which supports Israel’s illegal settlement activity in the West Bank and Jerusalem. In resonse to this extremist Zionist attack on the mosque a Palestinian stabbed an Israeli and two rockets were fired into Israel from the Gaza. If there is an escalation in violence between the Palestinians and Israel it is the fault only of Israel and not of either Hamas or the Palestinian’s. Hamas and the Palestinians would only be conducting a “just war” in their own defense. Peace
I keep telling folks Sarah Palin is having the time of her life. She is making a killing with her book tour and TV appearances. People keep asking if she will run for President in 2012 I say she will do it. Will she win who knows and really cares….At this point right now Obama is president and many Republicans are jockeying for the job.
Though I must say she use to drive me crazy in the past…But, now I find her in your face personality amusing. Would I vote for her? Heck NO!….Now, if she ever got a future TV show I’d watch it

I call Sarah Palin ALMA GANTRY. She realizes what she’s doing and unless she accidently spouts it through a microphone and loudspeaker, like Elmer Gantry did in the movie THE LAST HURRAH, she will continue this scam she plays on America.
People need to ridicule her and use heavy sarcasm and shame her supporters who appear the modern version of the know nothings who accuse others of acting elitist.
If caring about the less fortunate, which she does not, appears an elitist then call me an elitist.
She continues to attempt to shift blame away from corporations and their underpaying and union busting policies and towards the poor and the disabled and the elderly and the taxes that help these less fortunate.
If the rabble that follows her would realize that their cheap labor employers put them in this position and the poor, and the less fortunate do not threaten them she would lose her base.
However she appears a clever deceitful woman who continues the myth that her elitist friends are pissing all over her supporters and she tells them that it’s raining high taxes.
