Super Bowl Sunday

2010_Blizzard-II_Feb 118

Today began “State of the Union” with Candy Crowley, with one of her guests Sect. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I’ll add a big note of praise to the political gods and CNN for Ms. Crowley, the first woman ever to anchor an important Sunday news show. Talk about paying your dues. Christiane Amanpour does foreign policy and has a show on CNN too, but Crowley’s debut signals a real first for women. As her show is power politics up against the guys in Sunday morning primetime, talking meat and potato politics. Having written about the sexism on Sunday morning for many years, to finally be able to count a qualified female anchor in the mix is a real it’s about time treat for me.

David Gregory once again provided the gag reflex for Super Bowl brunch. Who does the booking for this guy?

Fox News Sunday had Gov. Sarah Palin fresh from the Tea Party speech, as well as Tea Partier Mark Skoda. Prepare for “birther” questions. Denial of them coming soon.

Oh… and… GO SAINTS.

Consider this a Super Bowl Sunday free for all.

I wonder what Hillary Clinton really thinks of the Sarah Palin phenomenon going on in the media… I only ask because I see a certain bias in favor of Sarah Palin from some media talking heads….While Hillary for years was vilified by the media as a dangerous threat to this country.
For me as a woman I would love to see a female President one day…and really thought it would be Hillary in 2008. It sicking to think Sarah Palin might have a shot in three years of reaching the White House. I hope once Hillary Clinton leaves office she writes a tell all book about her feelings ranging from Sarah Palin, Sexism, Policy ideas & Obama. I’d be first in line to buy it.

Taylor~ Amen to Candy Crowley! I turned on MTP saw the subject matter and flipped to CNN …really enjoyed it.

Marie205~ I think the threat Hillary has always represented is to the status quo.Palin on the other hand is a dish and she does not represent an intellectual challenge and after all boz will be boyz as far as the media is concerned.

That is one COLD looking Cardinal!!!

Sarah palin? Well the American Public tolerated baby bush steeling one election and actually winning another so I guess anything, no matter HOW insane is impossible.

I wish somebody who knows how to do it would go to youtube and bring back here…”misspelled signs of the Tea Party”…It is very funny.

I know…I freely admit I am being a hypocrite because I am not a good speller and I make frequent typos but Tancrado did say Obama was elected by people who can’t spell vote.

Are all you folks with heavy snow feeding the birds? They need it especially now.

I second Lake Lady about feeding the birds. Even if you throw some bread crusts out to them. And yes that is one COLD looking cardinal. Eerily beautiful though. Hope he found it to warmer quarters.

For all of you Michael Jackson fans, my cousin sent me the following youtube video. If you can access it with the link below, it is hysterical. Some of her friends live at this senior center.

Cardinals LOVE the snow and thrive in cold weather. This is the male to the pair that make our property home. He’s sitting on a copper pole that is attached to a gorgeous bird feeder.

As old timers know, Mark and I are big bird lovers, having raised peacocks as well. We have always had hawks around our properties because we create an small ecosystem that brings them. You wouldn’t believe the birds we’ve seen in our short time together. Here in the Beltway, we also have a pair of Bald Eagles that we’ve seen many times, as well as geese and cranes.

One note about feeding birds, bread is absolutely the worst choice. They cannot digest it and it causes all sorts of trouble. Just a note. Sunflower seeds are great and you can get black seeds at any store. We feed our wild birds fancier food, which is one reason we get such a dynamic variety.

    /end bird talk.

“… I only ask because I see a certain bias in favor of Sarah Palin from some media talking heads….While Hillary for years was vilified by the media as a dangerous threat to this country.”

One clear difference between Sarah Palin and any Democrat is that she fights back. No matter how insignificant the slight, she attacks and she does not stop, (and she is vindictive) and the media knows it. She even forced Letterman to apologize. Generally speaking, these media talking heads are bullies and when confronted bullies collapse. This is something the Democrats will apparently never find out. The ONLY people who have no fear in speaking truth about Palin are the folks at MSNBC. Attack a Republican and their surrogates come out of the woodwork; attack a Democrat and they are left to fend for themselves. Not even the Democratic Party Chairman will be around to offer protection.

As you correctly pointed out, for years Hillary was vilified but she was on her own, few Democrats came to her rescue and she rarely fought back the way Palin does. The media know they can attack her with impunity. When the Democrats learn how to fight they will be accorded the same “Bias?” :-)
