“How’s it been? Like a living hell.” – Rep. Bart Stupak

Poor Bart Supak.
Yeah, women whose privacy rights are targeted by a religious zealot tend to take that very personally.
However, Mr. Stupak must be positively thrilled that he gets to play the martyr. It’s the starring role of his political lifetime.
And just in case you thought this was a principled stand, it’s not. Via Reality Check, when Mr. Stupak was confronted with a White House letter reportedly “representing 59,000 nuns that was sent to lawmakers urging them to pass the health care bill,” his response was a shrug:
The conservative Democrat dismissed the action by the White House saying, “When I’m drafting right to life language, I don’t call up the nuns.” He says he instead confers with other groups including “leading bishops, Focus on the Family, and The National Right to Life Committee.” (emphasis added)
Bart Stupak, serving the patriarchy through Congress.
Clear enough for you now?

“Bart Stupak, serving the patriarchy through Congress.”
Love it — the phrase, not the reality to which it points. Keep the phrase, maybe, and fill it in occasionally with whoever currently fits. You could also change the institution through which the individual so serves. It wouldn’t have to be limited to government.
Thanks for a smile in the midst of … I’m not sure what word best describes the current situation, but it’s bad.
Yeah, the emails I’m getting are crushingly depressing to read right now. Many people are positively despondent on what’s happening.
When I read the story on Stupak, I knew instantly the photo I wanted to couple with it. It cracked me up, too.
Well maybe he and Obama can get a room together and talk about how everybody picks on them.

Like the reply — Very much — !
I was watching alittle of the Chris Matthews Show on MSNBC, I don’t watch it much I switch and try to watch all three news networks, anyway Congressman Stupak said that he trusts the word of the Bishops more or something like that. Even though I want more americans covered by healthcare but not like this bill,I think its wonderful to finally hear the nuns come out and speak there mind. A friend told me that they could get in trouble with the church over this, not for sure why, I am a Presbyterian so don’t no much about how the Catholic church does things.
Tweety was on fire tonight,in a good way. First he defended the integrity of Nuns from his personal life experiences with two aunts who were Nuns and then as a aide to Moinihan. Then he went after the organizer of that God awful rally where those swine threw money at a man with parkinsons.
LL.. Love your Tweety comments…
Thanks whitepaw…I should have said that he worked with Tip O’Neil,I get who he and who Larry O”Donnall worked for mixed up.
Stupak is trying to cover his Axx.
As for Stupak…boo hoo what does he think life is like for the employees of women’s healthcare providers who have to go to work each morning and leave each night wondering if one of the frothing at the mouth wingnuts who hang there holding signs is going to take them out? Or the families of doctors who have been killed while they are at home in their kitchens or at church?
He is a class A smuck!
Waaaah waaaaah. “People are mean because I want to regulate the dirty lady-parts.” Shut up, fucker.
Taylor, that picture is a win. Love it.
