This video needs no introduction or comment.
It’s absolutely one of the greatest services Jon Stewart has ever done in the name of comedy.
It’s also why some at Fox News channel are worried about what Glenn Beck could do to the network.
However, if Rush Limbaugh and talk radio are any example, there will always be loons ready to suck up whatever swill is coming from the right’s worst.
What I’m wondering about is when are people going to get a clue about Mr. Beck’s rabid anti-Catholic, anti-Christian rhetoric. It seems to have blown over the heads of many, including devout Catholic Bill O’Reilly, not to mention Fox viewers.
If Glenn Beck is not now than he could easily become a spokesman for the John Birch Society, the Aryan Nation or the Klu Klux Klan. But then, FOX is the ‘fiction’ news network after all. And Glenn Beck is just one of the many mental cases and propagandists that FOX employs. Peace

Bill O’Reilly has championed Glenn Beck, but he seems to not get his religious bigotry.

The Catholic Church I grew up knowing through friends preached social justice,that is what I admired about it. IMHO it has become just one more institution that has failed its people,especially it’s children.

The pathetic reality is faux notnews and the leadership of the consEEEERvatives have NOTHING but contempt for the Ubercgristians and Ubercatholics who lap up the swill/propaganda they spew. Why else would this leadership refer to the religous right as “Wackos” and “crazies” that they have to “throw some red meat to” in order to get them riled up and writing letters or out demonstrating? This sort of language (those words are direct quotes from Abrahmove and Rove) and appeals to religuos “values” voters are cynically used by the meat puppets who run the repugnantklan Party and it’s propaganda orgin faux notnews to stir up the bas. That stupid, superstition based world view, scarred out of their(well if they HAD any) wits by EVERYTHING new or differant, rightwingnut base.
That the leadership themselves live lives of decadance,greed, averice and hipocracy passes right over the heads of the zombified mass of the base. Just keep scarrin them about TERRORISTS, SOCIALIZED MEDICINE(that would benifit THEM) SOCIAL JUSTICE(that would benifit them) and the LIBERALS!!!! Oh yeah, throw in a mention of the Homos, Darkies and Mexicans every now and then.
I don’t understand how Beck can equate progressives with fascists. Doesn’t compute. However, Jon Stewart is hysterical.
Beck counts on stupidity and ignorance of history and he dosen’t get disappointed.He is not an educated person himself but he dosen’t believe all the hogwash he spouts.You know he got his start in jock radio pulling pranks for ratings.
LL – I would normally laugh at someone of Beck’s ilk because he is a caricature of someone else (can’t think who right now) but he represents a danger to this country because there are a lot of wing nuts out there who buy into his screed.

The O’Reilly/Beck relationship is hard to figure. Beck certainly owes his Fox News career to O’Reilly, and O’Reilly drags him around on the Fresh Bold tour and puts him on his top rated show. But what O’Reilly gets out of the relationship isn’t apparent to me. Between them, O’Reilly and Beck have the audience that leans (or has fallen) right sewed up. Maybe it’s a match made at the studio level the way male and female stars used to be matched up for the “audience.” Beck is obviously the pretty one.

I get your point, but I’d hate to think everybody who watches the top-rated “news” and opinion show on cable is as far right as its host. If O’Reilly’s entire audience were as far right as you think, McCain would be in the WH and the Republicans would have a majority in both houses of the Congress. Or maybe you don’t realize how vast O’Reilly’s audience is.
O’Reilly’s audience is as far right as secular says it is. It’s just that his audience isn’t as big as the FOX fiction news propagandists would like us all to believe that it is. Couple that with the fact that the nut jobs on the far right didn’t think that McCain was far right enough and you get an Obama in the WH. O’Reilly keeps Beck around because next to Beck he sounds like a sane moderate. Peace

Are you sure that they are moderates? I know that they may think of themselves as moderates and even tell you that they are. But are they really? Unless they watch him to see what the crazy far right is up to? That I could understand. But if they claim that anything O’Reilly says is rational than they are most assuredly not moderates. At least as far as I understand what a moderate is. Peace
This appears to be last night’s Nielsen. Look at O’Reilly at 8 PM, compared to all of the other “propagandists” combined. If, when you’re watching Olbermann, you think you’re part of a throng, think again. The name of the game is infotainment. O’Reilly is more entertaining than the others — not necessarily more persuasive.

ORielly’s audience on his BEST night is a FRACTION of what the WORST of the big three broadcast news shows draws.
If OLielly’s audience was as vast as you think Mccain would be in the WhiteHouse and the Congress would be Repug. Or maybe you didn’t realize his audience is pitiful when you talk about real audience share and not just cable.
Fox has the shit house rat crazy demographic all sewn up. The rest of normal humanity is spread over everywhere else.

I watch all three channels. I don’t usually watch at 5:00 because I don’t like the Glenn Beck on FOX or Chris Matthews on MSNBC. I watch CNN more than I do both FOX or MSNBC. The afternoon on both MSNBC and FOX you can tell which sides there on. I think the international channels are better such as BBC America.
