Pamela Geller is a virulent anti-Muslim screed merchant, who has a book coming out in July, which I wrote about in February, that targets Pres. Obama in the most vile manner. It is through this prism that CNN should judge her presence as a contributor in any discussion on the Middle East.
Robert Spencer, who wrote a piece for FrontPage, is pushing pieces by AtlasShrugged’s Pamela Geller, because the two of them joined together in the book to be published by Threshold Editions, an imprint of Simon and Schuster entitled, “The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War on America.” The intro in the book is written by John Bolton. Need I say more?
As of 2005, the “chief editor” of Threshold was Mary Matalin. It’s not Regnery, the behemoth right-wing publisher, which has been behind other Robert Spencer books, but having the imprimatur of Simon and Schuster, which is the publisher usually noted, gives the upcoming and undoubtedly venomous screed to come an aura of respectability. Look for specials from Human Events and WND to come, as Geller will likely get a platform to push her propaganda, because she’ll be an author come July.
Geller is who CNN chose to have as a pundit to expound against the building of a mosque near the epicenter of the 9/11 attacks. In the Bolton – Geller world of international politics, all Arabs and Muslims are terrorists. That’s because Geller is a tribal extremist and one of the reasons the Netanyahu-Lieberman government think they can do whatever they want without thinking about their relationship with the United States and how their actions impact on our security; something that Geller never considers.

The fact that you devote a soft post to the bigoted Helen Thomas simply on her apology, followed by a condemnation which turns Thomas’ comments upside down: “Ms. Thomas is getting pilloried for remarks that she should have never made. She’s smart enough to know they’d be used against her,” without strongly condemning Ms. Thomas, is outrageous.
And now, you write this post calling an idiot like Geller a “tribal extremist” (please define what this means…I shudder at my prediction as to what you actually would like to say…”
This juxtaposition shows your blatant bias. And that you are more than entitled to, as it’s your blog. But please do not for a second continue to call yourself “balanced” on issues relating to Israel and the Middle East. If you were truly balanced, you would have slammed Helen (“Jews go back to GERMANY)”Thomas and Geller equally.
I thought that Geller sounded like a nutjob and only made her movement and herself look bad.
Agreed, Geller is a nutjob, but no worse than Helen Thomas who gets the softball treatment on this site because she is a critic of Israel.
LATC, you crack me up.
please define what is a “tribal extremist”
Horse to water… ..
It’s pretty obvious. You’re a sophisticated thinker, so ponder it.
okay, I think you’re saying that any Jew who supports Israel is a “tribal extremist” and is obviously (in your mind) going against her otherwise rational senses by supporting a strong U.S.-Israel relationship.
Usage of the term “tribal extremist” is insulting and deeply offensive. Is Steny Hoyer a “tribal extremist” for his ardent support of Israel? Oh wait, no, he isn’t Jewish. Is Barack Obama–a true friend of Israel–a “tribal extremist”? Is Hillary Clinton? Nope….only Anthony Weiner, Chuck Schumer, and other liberal Jews deserve this insult.
Taylor, what is sad about you is that you attribute the motives of all Pro-Israel liberals in this country to the nefarious forces of the “Jewish lobby”/AIPAC. In your eyes, if it weren’t for AIPAC, liberals who are solidly pro-Israel would come to their senses and slam Israel at every opportunity without so much as uttering a peep about Arab/Palestinian/Iranian abuses/actions that have torn apart the peace process.
To you, the Israel issue is a one-way street; yes, you show sympathy for Israel on Holocaust Remembrance Day and its Independence Day, and are FAR more informed than others on this site when it comes to the peace process. However, any time a politician defends Israel (which is not hard to do considering over 70% of Americans support the U.S.-Israel relationship), it is the fault of outside parties or “tribal extremist” Jews who are so blinded by their religion/ethnicity, that they are incapable of being as smart as you on the Middle East.
Thank goodness that our preferred 2008 candidate, Hillary Clinton, shared/shares –THIS PORTION OF THIS COMMENT HAS BEEN DELETED (TM). But I suppose that is also because of AIPAC too. It really gets tiring after awhile.
TM NOTE: The above section deleted was a reference to anti-Semitism using the words “disdain for Israel” to hide behind the charge through other words. It is a cowardly attack that is unfounded and gratuitously used to smear people.
Again, LATC, you crack me up.
The post is about Pamela Geller, specifically, but off you run on a blathering tirade.
You’re so blindsided and long-winded as to be comical. Thanks for the CACKLE.
Very mature, Taylor, laugh at your readers posting without a response. Your response only confirms that you cannot and should not be taken seriously as a commentator on a difficult international issue such as the Middle East.
And you do not refute my interpretation of your usage of the term “tribal extremist.” Hillary Clinton would be ashamed of you.
LATC, when you go off on tangents like the above, I simply don’t read them.
As for approval from you or anyone else, I’m not interested.
“TM NOTE: The above section deleted was a reference to anti-Semitism using the words “disdain for Israel” to hide behind the charge through other words. It is a cowardly attack that is unfounded and gratuitously used to smear people.”
*Reader NOTE: In NO WAY does “disdain for Israel”=anti-semitism, nor was it intended to mean this, as Ms. Marsh is trying to scramble my above posting rather than respond to the substance.*
I will re-phrase my earlier statement to eliminate “disdain for Israel.” However, our preferred 2008 presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, would be ashamed of Taylor Marsh’s abhorrent positions concerning the U.S.-Israel relationship and maniacal focus on political supporters of this relationship whom Ms. Marsh deems to be “tribal extremists.”
My post above was a fair response to your postings which time and time again smear anyone who is supportive of Israel, particularly liberals.
Your immature responses to the above postings are what we’ve come to expect. Please explain to me what your usage of the term “Tribal Extremists” means.
Thomas knows history and is actually old enough to experience it first hand, I am not so sure on Geller.
Geller is a joke and a bigot. Thomas is not a joke, but a bigot with WH Press credentials..
OMG…WHO IS THIS SCHMUCK Liberalastheycome?? Yoou must be a newbie around here.
Schmuck? Insults insults insults, how old are you, 5?
Well hey LATC, it’s simple.
