Cross AIPAC at Your Peril

Right-wing Republicans have gone past the Who Is More Pro Israel? standard. They’re now into McCarthyism and anti-democratic swiftboating.

The Gaza blockade is wrong and any politician saying so out loud or in print through their signature is not only correct, but far more pro Israeli that Bill Kristol’s fearmongering pack. With Rep. Mike Pence saying Pres. Obama is anti Israel in front of every microphone shoved in his face, boy, 2012 is going to be really ugly.

AIPAC, formerly the AMERICAN ZIONIST Committee for Public Affairs, is a non-elected lobby group.

    According to WIKIPedia:

” It has been described as one of the most powerful lobbying groups in Washington, DC, and its critics have stated it acts as an agent of the Israeli government with a “stranglehold” on the US Congress.

In 2005, a Pentagon analyst pled guilty to charges of passing US government secrets to two AIPAC staffers in what is known as the AIPAC espionage scandal. Both staffers were later fired.

In 1984 the FBI investigated after Israeli Minister of Economics Dan Halpern passed stolen classified US government documents to AIPAC outlining trade secrets of major US industries lobbying against the US-Israel Free Trade Area.

“US Department of Justice files reveal that the Kennedy administration ordered the American Zionist Council to register as an agent of the Israeli government under the Foreign Agents Registration Act on November 21, 1962″.

However, the subsequent change of name to AIPAC apparently pre-empted such requirement for registration as a Foreign Agent.

It’s influence upon the US legislature is apparently disproportionate in view of its membership figure which is estimated at only 100,000 out of a US population of 308 million.

These ads are so over-the-top they should be denounced by the ADL and AIPAC. Hahahahaaha! Not gonna happen! That would take character, ethics and conviction.

The best part is that the letter that circulated in Congress and which they highlight as “anti-Israel” was authored/supported by J Street! So we are now at the point in this country where liberal Jewish people who believe the never-ending occupation is threatening Israel’s security are all anti-Israel? Whatever.

Just remember that AIPAC is not running those ads. A neo-con group led by Bill Kristol is running those ads. This isn’t about crossing AIPAC. It’s about a bunch of neo-cons trying to define themselves as the only true friends of Israel.

um… Right. That is if you think William Kristol isn’t part of AIPAC central.
