The first installment of $900 billion is contingent on enacting 10 year caps on annual appropriations which the leadership had hoped would save well over $1 trillion. But CBO late Tuesday came back with a report showing the legislation would reduce deficits by $850 billion when measured against the agency’s most current projections for spending. – CBO: John Boehner’s debt bill comes up short

This whole “crisis” demonstrates how inept Pres Obama and the Dems are.
Ten year caps on appropriations? What is this, Alice in Wonderland. Do these people seriously believe that some other congress and some other president is going to stick to that? Why don’t you just say were going to spend 20.00 dollars a year for the next ten years; it’s worth about the same. I hope those dumbed down voters are happy now. Maybe next time they will give the president and congress more than two years to clean up a mess ten years in the making.
