Cornell Sun Covered Cornell7, Not Sonny Hostin

Bravo to the student journalists at The Cornell Daily Sun, who have been on this gang rape story of the Cornell7 for 2 years. Cornell University “found its voice only after the lawsuit was filed.”

“The View” criticism of this tragedy by Sonny Hostin seems to ignore the reporting of The Cornell Sun and is irresponsible, self-indulgent, and pushes doubt of Jane Doe, imo. A righteous avalanche of criticism ensued and rightly so.

To add, the synchronicity with Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” blows my mind, as covered in this week’s podcast. One section tells the tale of women in America. When the music completely stops, you hear Dakota Johnson say, “I’m sorry.” Colin Farrell begins to berate Johnson. A scene too many women have experienced when being gaslit.

When a woman decides to imbibe and party with guys, it does not mean she consents to rape.

Who is teaching these young men?

Where are their mothers and fathers?

The moral failure of the adults at Cornell University cannot be overstated.
